The Austin Peay State University Master of Public Health (MPH) degree is a 42-credit hour program designed to train students to protect and promote the health of communities and populations. Throughout the program, students will gain an in-depth understanding of how social determinants contribute to health inequities, and through experiential learning opportunities, students will investigate the root causes of these inequities and apply strategies to eliminate health disparities and improve health outcomes. The MPH is completely online, and students have the flexibility to take classes full-time or part-time.

Admissions Requirements

• Application for admission

• Application Fee:  $45 domestic or $55 international

• Official transcripts from all colleges attended

• Verification of lawful presence in the United States (i.e. submit a license or other approved document)

• Priority deadling to apply is April 1

• Bachelor’s degree, conferred in any field, from a regionally accredited institution with a preferred overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0

• Submit a 500-750 word personal statement responding to the following questions: Why did you choose to apply to the APSU MPH program? How does earning your MPH fit into your professional goals? AI generated or assisted personal statements will not be accepted.

• Submit at least one (1) letter of recommendation (no personal letters will be accepted) speaking to the student’s academic abilities and potential to succeed in a graduate professional program.

• Military documents (if applicable)

• Admission decision by department

• Note: applicants will be considered individually based on a number of factors including rigor of undergraduate program, academic record/history, and writing ability
